2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 Road Racer to R-GT Rally Car Build by Mäkelä Auto-Tuning

We are no strangers to Mäkelä Auto-Tuning in Finland, having featured a few of their Group B rally projects in the past but that familiarity hasn’t stopped us yet from being awestruck by their work each and every time we see a new one completed. They just finished this 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage build in time to race it at last weekends Arctic Lapland Rally after converting it from a GT4 road racer into a rally car for FIA’s new R-GT class. The new category was created last year for 2 wheel drive production based GT cars, a no-brainer for late model 911 GT3s to enter and in 2014 a Tuthill modified 997 was the first Porsche to finish a WRC event since 1986. It’s good to see MAT mixing up the field a bit with this English car, without doubt the very first Vantage GT4 of nearly 100 made so far that has been converted for off-road duty. Check out the transformation on the following page, the jaw dropping pictures speak for themselves…
