With an eye toward the time when V8s are viewed as gas guzzlers, Honda chose to make their new NSX again powered by a V6, this time a 3.5 liter V-6.
That all new twin turbocharged V-6 is mated to a 9 speed dual clutch transmission with an electric motor built in. The power generated is then put through Acura’s signature SuperHandling All Wheel Drive system, which employs sophisticated torque vectoring to provide a high level of responsiveness. There are two more electric motors mounted at the front of the car, one for each front wheel.
I don’t know if this will make you eligible to drive as the only occupant in the high occupancy lane in California but if it does, I am sure the “greenies” will be chagrined to find a 200 mph car in “their” lane. Continue reading →
