Vintage Dealership Photos

With your help, we would like to develop a new category that features vintage dealership photos to expand further upon what we have attached here. Although we always enjoy seeing pictures of recently restored vintage cars, nothing beats seeing old pictures of them when they were still brand new and sitting on the showroom floor. It’s amazing that the dreadful tradition of haggling over the price of a car is still commonplace in our society, a practice that everybody hates to do and yet it unbelievably still exists to this day. In any case, please enjoy the few photos we actually have gathered up so far on the following page and if you have something interesting to include, please put a link to it in the “Comments” section below, or e-mail them to us [email protected] for us to update here. Closed Down Dunn Chevrolet Should Be a Museum

Last month Hagerty Classic Cars sent their photographer Gabe Augustine to shoot the following pictures of closed-down Dunn Chevrolet in Roanoke, Alabama. The dealership shut their doors in 2007, at which time Keith Rowell purchased the treasure trove contents of NOS parts that dated all the way back to the 1930’s. He had aspirations of re-opening the store and selling cars again, but unfortunately no factory support from GM arose to help make the dream become a reality. In any case, the parts were said to be set for cataloging and inventory for future sales at auction, but we think a better idea would be to keep it open as a museum because this rare slice of Americana history is surely one of the last of it’s kind that still survives…
